This dated, signed and numbered limited-edition multi-function set of 21 original photographs represents the vision of internationally renowned photographer Markus Klinko, whose luminous portraits document the larger-than-life icons of 21st-century pop culture. Taken over 21 years (2000-2021), the images comprise a chronological archive of the era’s most creative, diverse and compelling celebrities, including a Klinko self-portrait.
This project was created in collaboration with Davide Nicosia and NiCE2.io, a company that believes in the beauty of diversity and in the power of creativity to heal the plant. Each of the 21 images is printed on heavyweight archival paper and contained in an ingenious plexiglass box that serves as a framing device and portable gallery. Only 100 sets of 21 images have been produced and are available exclusively through select galleries worldwide. Each set is dated, numbered, and signed by Markus Klinko. $1,000 of every sale will be directed by PURPOSECYCLE, a foundation affiliated with NiCE2.io, to charitable organizations that support people with mental health issues.
When photographing an artist, I always desire to create a work that truly defines them and can serve as a milestone in pop culture history. Those are ambitious and lofty goals, but it is what I am thinking about when I pick up my camera.
